The Sunshine Club, a division of TEMI (Teaching English Methods Institute) is always happy to receive inquiries and resumes from volunteers to help bring some sunshine into the lives of children hospitalized in local Fukuoka hospitals. Requirements for non-Japanese are: a commitment for a minimum of 6 months, English ability and a warm heart. Teaching experience is not necessary; training is available. Valuable experiences await the right people. Requirements for Japanese are: a commitment for a minimum of 6 months. Some special talent that can be shared with the children, such as picture book reading, magic, playing a musical instrument, balloon creations, clown expertise, etc. Each volunteer is asked to make a visit once a month. Valuable experiences await the right people. We ask our volunteers to visit the hospitals once a month for one hour. Volunteers are reimbursed for travel expenses.
